Coinciding with the blooming of the Cherry Blossoms, every February Starbucks launches the Sakura Series in Japan. However, this year there is going to be two different dates for the launch of the Japanese merchandising: The first set of merchandising will be launched on February 15th, and it will be called SERENE; the second one, on March 1st, and it will be called CHERRY. This year´s merchandising presents two different looks of Sakura: the first one with a pale pink look, these sakura-themed tumblers, glasses, mugs and gift cards will show pale pinks and other colors of the season (SERENE); the second round of merchandising will change colors closer to March, when Starbucks will bring out their line of the same products but with in more vivid hues of hot pink: SAKURA.
However, these are not the only news, Starbucks will have two new Japan-exclusive dessert beverages: Sakura Blossom and Strawberry. Fans of Starbucks in Japan will be able to add some variety to their coffee habit this month:
Piping-hot Caramel Sakura Chocolate latte or icy Caramel Sakura Chocolate Frappuccino style. Both drinks will feature a drizzling of rich cherry and caramel sauce topped with shavings of subtly cherry-flavored white chocolate. To satisfy the sweet tooth there is a cerise inspired Sakura Chiffon Cake. Stores will also be offering packages of the Starbucks Via instant coffee “essences” with an assortment of four flavors and cookies to take home or to the office.
